Incisor Intrusion

Indications:

Increased overbite and increased incisor / gingival display.

Retroclined incisors requiring labial crown torque.

 

Case Details:

Adult with extruded incisors and absent UL3 and UR4. Orthodontic relapse due to aggressive adolescent periodontal disease.

Limited treatment with an upper fixed appliance supported by Infinitas vertical anchorage.

 

Key Points:

Buccal mini-implants (1.5mm diameter, 6mm length, short neck) inserted between UR2 & 3, and UL2 & 4.

Elastomeric chain applied to the incisor brackets.

Incisor labial crown torque should be controlled if undesirable.

Monitor periodontal status of intruding teeth.
