Incisor Retraction

This was a 56 yr old woman with absent UL4, LR6, 7mm over-jet and significant centerline shifts. She needed full unit distalisation of the UR3 for centerline correction, over-jet reduction and to allow for distal movement of the LR3. A 2mm screw was inserted between the UR5 & 6, at the start of treatment – although Dr. Cousley would now delay this insertion and use the 1.5 mm diameter version. The patient refused to wear elastics to fully settle the right buccal occlusion – this demonstrates what can be achieved without any patient compliance (over and above fixed appliance wear).
