Single Tooth Intrusion

Indications:

Over-erupted tooth preventing tooth levelling or restoration in the opposing arch.

 

Case Details:

Adult patient with a compromised dentition and over-erupted UL3.

Treated by a partial lower fixed appliance and Infinitas vertical anchorage.

UL3 vertical position over-corrected then mini-implants used for box elastic extrusion of the lower premolars.

 

Key Points:

Buccal mini-implants (1.5mm diameter, 6mm length, short neck) inserted mesial and distal to the UL3.

Elastomeric chain in a 'V' configuration between the mini-implants and canine attachment.

Consider a vacuum-formed baseplate to prevent buccal flaring, if mini-implant emergence profile is labial to intruding crown.
